Corners
Corners interprets a chapter from Gaston Bachelard’s The Poetics of Space, using the text as an inspiration for manipulation of type on the page. Echoing the visual idea of a corner, paragraphs are tilted and skewed to create unusual textures that maintain legibility as they bleed off the page.
The booklet’s spreads show a progression of this concept, intensifying and becoming more eccentric until the end, where the text reaches a momentary pause. My photography provides contrasting visual textures and thematic resonances.
The booklet is saddle-stitched and printed on speckled cream paper, with a blue-gray vertical sleeve that acts as a double-sided title page.
