Static Cling
I conceptualized the Static Cling festival as a celebration of indie rock’s finest musicians, spread over two weeks with identical lineups.
I curated the lineup to include artists whose repertoires include loud, frantic rock as well as more intimate songs. The festival’s first “static” weekend features noisy sets in Providence’s Cranston Street Armory, while the second “cling” weekend features quieter acoustic sets outside the armory in Dexter Training Ground Park.
I developed the identity for the festival with inspiration from ASCII art, constructing the wordmark from monospaced slashes and parentheses. The concept was built out to include posters, ephemera, wearables, animations and supergraphics.
